Fall Migration Story #1

The first event of Fall Migration has occurred! Fall Migration Story #1 is the story of the one of the first fall migrants to pass through the area. What might this bird be? The Prairie Warbler!

This bird is the 71th recorded species for the NSLH region. If you are interested in volunteering on the Checklist Team and adding a new region to the Orlando Birding area, check out the Volunteer page.

The Prairie Warbler is a small, 5 inch warbler, with streaked yellow underparts and drab green upperparts. This tiny songbird is a winter resident in Florida, and the ones that have been sighted are probably some of the first migrants to pass through the area.

Keep your eye out for this bird! Report any sightings here. Remember to be on the lookout out for other fall migrants! You can report them via the previous link.
